On August 12th, 2011 the Nintendo 3DS will drop in price from the absurd $249.99 to a more reasonable $169.99, so now you can buy a 3DS without breaking the bank. This price cut should spike the sales that have been quite low for a company that normally dominates the handheld market. “For anyone who was on the fence about buying a Nintendo 3DS, this is a huge motivation to buy now,” said Ninte... more. -

Nintendo spent the first 15 minutes of their conference celebrating the 25 year anniversary of its amazing franchise "The Legend of Zelda" by bringing in a full orchestra and showing clips of past Zelda games. It was entertaining to see Shigeru Miyamoto pretend to open a treasure chest to the famous tune of Zelda music. Miyamoto also mentioned that the same orchestra that was playing would be goin... more. -

Ah commercials. Like a modern day carnival barkers, they both inform and annoy us. They can be helpful in educating us about the products we purchase while providing time for us to get a snack. Other times they leave us wanting thirty seconds of our life back. As part of my effort to preserve the rich culture and history of video-games, I have scoured the world to categorize and compile this... more. -

With a rapid slow down in game releases and a new console on the way, it's safe to say we are entering the last days of the Wii. One of the most impressive features the Wii offered at launch was the Virtual Console. A clear answer to Xbox Live Arcade, Virtual console offered classic titles from video game systems of old. With reasonable pricing and spot on emulation, Virtual Console was a big su... more. -

Just 6 short years ago we all scoffed at rumors about Nintendo's "Revolution". Motion controls? They're going to call it the Wii? No one is going to buy that. Who can blame us for being pessimistic after Nintendo's previous system, the Gamecube, had all but crashed and burned. Nintendo's press conference at e3 2005 blew many a mind, and even if you still weren't convinced you just kne... more. -
Another Year, Another Spider-Man Game

You have to hand it to Activision for not giving up on a franchise until it's been bled so dry it crumbles to dust like Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk. Even their mediocre games have become as annual as Madden. Activision has had their hands in the Spider-Man cookie jar since Spider-Man: The Video Game for the PSone and Dreamcast. Last year's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions was seen as lacking by crit... more. -

There is no denying that the Nintendo's 3ds is an impressive piece of hardware. Setting aside the obvious (HOLY CRAP 3D WITHOUT GLASSES!!!) it has more processing power, an improved interface, better online capabilities, and so on. Even with all these important advances in hand held hardware, you may want to hold on to your pocket book this weekend. I know what you're thinking "what insane r... more. -
