High Moon is at it again and this time you’ll be able to play as Grimlock. ’nuff said, take my money. The rest of you may need more convincing. The first game, War for Cybertron, was pretty good as both a decent shooter and very reverent to the Transformers mythos. It is also the only multi-player shooter I know of that lets you turn into a car, hit an ramp a top speed, turn
back into a robot in mid air, shoot down a couple of slack jawed proto-forms (Transformers jargon for noob), turn back into a car before you hit the ground, and keep on driving like it ‘ain’t no thing’. In this sequel, Optimus Prime and his auto-bots enlist the help of some new allies like the aforementioned Dino-Bot leader Grimlock.
Fall of Cyber-tron Finds Grimlock in the malicious hands of Shockwave. A victim of a cruel experiment Grimlock is suffering
from a speech impediment and can now transform into T-rex. When he breaks out he finds he is unable to transform at will and must now fill a rage meter by cutting down his foes. Once he’s good and charged up he becomes the rampaging, fire breathing, king of the dinosaurs we all know and love.
The Decepticons are getting some fresh blood as well. The Combaticons join the fight, five military inspired transformers who combine to form the towering Bruticus. When I first heard this news it made me wonder why the more popular Constructicons and their combiner Devastator weren’t High Moon’s first choice. Then I realized no one wants to play as a robot who turns into a cement mixer (sorry Mixmaster).
