In the mood for some ‘Splode-tastic fun? If so, you may want to take Ms Splosion Man for a test drive. The crew at Twisted Pixel have spared no effort to make this latest “Experiment” their best so far. Keep reading to find out more details.
If you have played Splosion Man or are just a fan of all around good games, you are going to want to throw down 800MSP on this title for sure. Building on an already fun and zany franchise, Twisted Pixel has definitely outdone themselves with Ms. Splosion Man. Fans of the franchise will feel right at home, as the gaming mechanics have stayed primarily the same. The addition of a few new characters as well as the completely new personality of Ms Splosion Man add more than enough “new” for this title to stand completely on its own two feet.
While many of game mechanics have remained the same, the twitch gameplay has been taken to a completely new level. While hunting for a term to describe this new gameplay, “bat-shit crazy” comes to mind, and I mean that in a ‘omg-I-can’t-get-enough’ kind of way. They have stepped up the difficulty level of this title easily 10 fold, while at the same time keeping the gameplay so fresh and addictive that you find yourself asking “please sir, may I have some more?”
The incredibly simple control system, ‘Splode, ‘Splode, and ‘Splode, lends itself perfectly to this game and makes it easily approachable to gamers of all skill levels. The levels however, are not as forgiving. Although the levels do start you off fairly gentle, this title is most definitely by gamers, for gamers. Timing is hands down the most important aspect and if you can’t get it right, be prepared to play over and over.
If you have ever played a Twisted Pixel game, the humor and wit you have come to know and love is in full force. The voice work for MSM herself is hilarious! I often find myself standing around waiting to hear what she will say next, absolutely great work! Anyone familiar with the first Splosion Man is also familiar with the ‘Donut Song’, and not to be outdone, Ms Splosion Man is featuring her own equally amazing ‘Mandy Song’. I won’t spoil it for you, but when you hear it you see what I mean about amazing! They have also built on to a great feature from SM, ‘Cheat on the Game’. This time around the effects are… a bit different. They feature some… appearance changes… as well as another new song. Even if you don’t want to “cheat” you have to try it at least once to see what I mean, it’s freaking AWESOME!
If you aren’t yet convinced that
this game is freaking awesome, let me add that in addition to the single player campaign, there is also and complete multiplayer campaign that is just as ‘bat-shit crazy’, if not more so. Add into the crazy puzzle platforming 2-3 MORE players (2-4 total) and see if that kicks the madness up a notch! Everyone ‘Sploding this way and that, all while trying to solve puzzles, navigate nasty traps, note to mention ‘Sploding everything around you in the process. Needless to say, the multiplayer is also AMAZING!
